 Shakespeare Sonnet Studies Vol
I: Immortality Through Poetry #PTY1
The theme of this installment in our series is Immortality Through
Poetry. Questions have been developed to bring out this theme, but the
programs also give the students a chance to really think about what they are
reading by introducing thought questions for each poem.
This first in the series of Sonnet Studies is dedicated to the theme of
Immortality Through Poetry. In many of the sonnets the poet insures his
subject that he will achieve immortality because his verse will live on beyond
the mortal human -- an interesting concept explored in the sonnets and in other
of Shakespeare's works. This study has 40 questions and deals with Sonnets
18, 19, 38, 54, 60, 63, 65, 81, and 100. Sonnets are graphically displayed
on screen, a report card is issued at the
end for student and teacher, scores are displayed on screen at all times,
students get immediate feedback from the program so that this becomes a learning
experience, and questions and answers can be printed by the teacher for lesson

Astrology #PTY2
The theme of this installment in our series is Astrology.
Elizabethans and the poets were greatly dependent upon the workings of the stars
to understand the changes in their lives. This study points out some of
these references in Shakespeare's sonnets. Questions have been developed to bring out this theme, but the
programs also give the students a chance to really think about what they are
reading by introducing thought questions for each poem.
This sonnet study is dedicated to the theme of Astrology. This study has
24 questions and deals with Sonnets 14, 25, 26, 60, and 107. Sonnets are
graphically displayed on screen, a report card is issued at the
end for student and teacher, scores are displayed on screen at all times,
students get immediate feedback from the program so that this becomes a learning
experience, and questions and answers can be printed by the teacher for lesson

IV: The Dark Lady #PTY4
The theme of this installment in our series is The Dark Lady. One of the
great mysteries of the sonnets has been who the 'dark lady' might be.
There have been many offerings by critics, but the problem remains unsolved. Questions have been developed to bring out this theme, but the
programs also give the students a chance to really explore the feelings of the
poet and his mistress.
This sonnet study is dedicated to a study of the 'dark lady.'. This study has
50 questions and deals with Sonnets 127, 128, 130, 131, 134, 137, 138,
141,144,147,151, and 152. These are generally accepted to be the sonnets
concerned with this theme. Sonnets are
graphically displayed on screen, a report card is issued at the
end for student and teacher, scores are displayed on screen at all times,
students get immediate feedback from the program so that this becomes a learning
experience, and questions and answers can be printed by the teacher for lesson
preparation. Easy to use and very effective.
